Baloch Human Rights Organization’s (BHRO) representative declared the month of August, the most devastating as per human rights violations and said that in the month of August, in different incidents, 91 people were extra judicially executed, 138 forcefully disappeared and 51 people were released. The representative, in the monthly report, said that security forces extra judicially executed 41 people during military operations, conducted in different parts of Balochistan including Shams Khatoon, a resident of Balgathar, district Panjgur, 8 people who were killed in Dera Bugti and the people who were killed in Kohlu, Noshki, Kolowah are also included in the list.

BHRO’s representative said the policy of using excessive power by forces has worsened the human rights violations in Balochistan. Despite of demands of human right organizations and political parties, government has continued the policy of using excessive force and it has its serious impacts on the society. Thousands of families’ only bread earners were extra judicially executed and their family members are living miserably in poverty. He further added that dozens of inhabitants of Kolowah have migrated and many of them were abducted in the ongoing military operation, started on August 22.

Baloch Human Rights Organization’s representative said that in the month of August, we received 138 cases of enforced disappearances, abducted by forces. Majority of the families of enforced disappeared people are not filing cases in fear of security forces and those who have filed cases in court and police stations are not following the cases due to noncooperation of civil administration and judiciary.

He added that United Nation is observing 30th August as International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances since 2010 but the member state of United Nations, Pakistan, is involved in enforced disappearances of people and on which UN is silent. It is responsibility of United Nations to take step for the safe recovery of enforced disappeared people who were abducted under the supervision of government of Pakistan.

Baloch Human Rights Organization said that in the month of August forces killed several people in different areas of Bolan, district Kachhi. Majority of them were women and children. In the rural area, forces killed innocent people and falsely claimed them to be killed in encounter but media and Government institutions, instead of investigation has turned a blind eye towards their responsibilities.
