The fearsome chain of enforced disappearances of people by forces is continue across Balochistan. A situation has developed in Balochistan that the personnel of forces consider themselves above human rights values and state law. The continuing operations are increasing the concern that the policy of counterinsurgency is being used to frighten the people. It not only has a negative effect on the minds of common people but also, they have become direct victims of state policies.

BHRO’ representative has described the details of forces’ operations and said that in Balochistan, in the month of January in separate operations, 119 people are arrested and forcibly disappeared. Among the abductees, 41 people are abducted from different areas of Bolan during military operation including a large number of women and children. During operation, Budho Mazarani, Shadi Gul Chalghari, Hassan Sumalani, Lalo Mazarani, Meshdar Sumalani, Gul Hassan Sumalani and Gulab Khan Mazarani are abducted along with their whole families. Moreover, 51 people were extrajudicially executed in which 13 mutilated bodies were recovered.

In this month of January, 30 previously abducted people were released, mostly disappeared in the same month.

Baloch Human Rights Organization further said, abduction and arresting of people without any lawsuit and subject them to torture is the violation of basic human rights which is taking place in Balochistan on daily basis by the state forces. The overall situation of Balochistan is very serious and if the state’s institutions don’t stop their policy of using indiscriminate force than the poor human rights situation will worsen.

Baloch Human Rights Organization appeals to the governments to play their role in the safe recovery of missing persons and stop extrajudicial raids and detention of people of Balochistan.
