Balochistan: The enforced disappearance of women and children and rape of women by security forces is a human tragedy. BHRO

The representative of Baloch Human Rights Organization (BHRO), in a statement, condemned the human rights violations in Balochistan.

He said that few days ago, wife and daughter of Abdullah were abducted on their way from Washbood Panjgur. They were going to visit their relative when the state-sponsored death squads blocked their way and abduct them. Both were raped multiple times and tortured for three days and later they were dumped in a river in critical condition.

Security forces have forcibly disappeared a woman, Gul Nissa and her infant child, Atta along with 4 other people during a military operation from Jhao, district Awaran on October 28, 2018. The abductees are identified as Nizar Mohammad Hussain, Gamani Dad Mohammad, Din Mohammad Salman and Umer Jan Shahdad. Their whereabouts remain unknown to the date.


On October 29, secret intelligence agents raided the house of Mulla Rahmdil in Sordo Panjgur and
forcibly disappeared 2 students, Shabir Eid Mohammad and Hanif Mohammad Hassan. Both are residents of Gresha, district Khuzdar and present in Panjgur for their graduation examination.


In another incident, a bullet-riddled body was recovered from Panjgur, later identified as Shoaib Khuda Rahm. However, the perpetrators couldn’t be identified so far.

The representative further added that military forces are involved in the abduction of people. They deny them a fair trial and didn’t disclose their locations. The enforced disappeared persons later appear as mutilated bodies or are killed in fake encounters. Whereas, the majority of released people comes out with permanent mental and physical damages.

In the past few years, the increase in the abduction of women and children by forces in Balochistan is a human tragedy and the judiciary must take notice and address serious human rights violations in Balochistan. The security establishment in Balochistan is violating national and international laws by committing crimes against humanity. The government and judiciary should protect the people of Balochistan and play their role to end human rights violations being committed by forces,he added.
